Help & FAQ
WHERE DO YOU MAKE YOUR PRODUCTS?
We make our skin care collection and teething necklaces in Texas. A small family-run factory in central North Carolina makes all of our organic cotton clothing from fabric knitted about 50 miles away in Greensboro, South Carolina.
DO YOU TEST YOUR PRODUCTS ON ANIMALS?
Not a chance. Leaping Bunny and PETA have proudly certified our products and we promise not to conduct, contract out or fund studies on animals in the development, manufacturing, testing, or marketing of our products. We hold our raw ingredient suppliers to the same standard.
DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN SYNTHETIC FRAGRANCES OR FRAGRANCE OILS?
Never. All fragrances are 100% natural, derived from plant-based ingredients like Calendula and Chamomile flowers, pure plant extracts and aromatherapy quality essential oils.
DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN PARABENS, PABA, PHTHALATES, DYES, SULFATES OR FOAMING AGENTS?
Absolutely not. We make our skin care collection from the safest, purest, wild harvested ingredients you’ll find anywhere. When we say all natural, we mean “all” natural. Every product is 100% free of toxins, chemicals, metals, synthetics and dyes. The high-foaming lather of Bluebird Castile Soap comes from a high concentrate of coconut oil, which creates a more luxurious lather than any detergent could ever dream of.
WHAT PRESERVATIVES DO YOU USE?
We make each product using only natural and organic raw botanicals, and we don't use water in any formulation so they do not require conventional chemical preservatives. We use natural antioxidants, including rosemary extract, to help maintain freshness and delay oxidation.
WHERE CAN I FIND A COMPLETE LIST OF INGREDIENTS?
Right on each product page. We not only tell you what’s in each product but “why” we carefully select each ingredient. And we use only ingredients you know like olive oil, coconut oil, lavender, marshmallow, mandarin, cocoa butter and chamomile.
I’M VEGAN. WHICH PRODUCTS CAN I USE?
Our goal was to make our skin care line 100% Vegan, but we have to use certified organic yellow beeswax to make Bun Glaze and On the Spot. We tried to find a better plant-based substitute but there isn’t one that offers the same amazing qualities and skin benefits. Beeswax contains Vitamin A for normal cell development, has natural antibacterial properties, and forms a protective barrier against environmental impacts while keeping moisture in. Plant-based waxes like Candelilla or Carnauba are the only alternatives, but they offer very few skin benefits. They’re also brittle and tend to clump together, and that leads to an inferior product.
I’M PALEO. WHICH PRODUCTS CAN I USE?
Everything is Paleo except Oatmeal Cookie Bath because it contains gluten-free oat flour.
WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF SKINCARE PRODUCTS?
We handcraft our skincare products in small batches with the freshest, highest quality organic ingredients and we don't use chemical preservatives, so they do have a limited shelf life.
Since most of our products are made with naturally stable oils and butters that have shelf lives of 12 months or longer, we recommend you use our products within one year of purchase to ensure that each product is fresh, and that the herbs and essential oils are most effective. We use one year as a general guideline but recommend you use your best judgement. If the product develops an unusual odor or changes appearance, please discontinue use.
To maximize the shelf life of each product, avoid contamination. Always use clean, dry hands or a small spoon, especially when touching product in an open container. Store products in a cool, dry place, away from heat and direct sunlight. In the event you purchase one of our products and find it's not at its freshest point, email us at TalkToUs@nymeorganics.com.
MY BLUEBIRD CASTILE SOAP GETS CLOUDY WHEN IT GETS COLD. IS THIS NORMAL?
Happens all the time and there's nothing actually wrong with the product. Bluebird is made with organic, unprocessed ingredients and when the temperature drops below 50º F, fatty acids may begin to appear cloudy. If this happens, place the bottle in a warm room or submerge the bottle up to the pump cap in warm water, until the normal appearance is restored.
THE COLOR OF MY BUN GLAZE IS A LITTLE DARKER-LIGHTER-GREENER THAN MY LAST. IS THIS NORMAL?
Completely normal. All of the products you are buying are handmade, using premium ingredients, so they tend to have variations from batch to batch, including slight changes. And since all of our ingredients are crop-based, they may also be affected by the growing season, temperature or harvest time. These little variances are what make our natural products so unique and they don't change the effectiveness of the product or the purity.
IS BUN GLAZE SAFE TO USE ON CLOTH DIAPERS?
Yes, Bun Glaze is completely safe for cloth diapering and will wash out cleanly, leaving no residue.
CAN ADULTS USE YOUR PRODUCTS?
Absolutely! While we originally designed our products for babies and kids, they’re incredibly effective for adults too.
I LOVE THE LATHER OF BLUEBIRD CASTILE SOAP. CAN I USE IT AS A SHAMPOO?
Bluebird is a fantastic mild body wash for anyone from newborn to 90 (and beyond), and many of our customers use it on their kids as a super-gentle replacement for chemical-filled shampoos. But there are a few things to consider if adults want to use it as a shampoo:
1.) Don’t use too much. Even though Bluebird is a simple vegetable oil-based soap, it’s still a powerful cleaner. Remember to pair it with an acidic conditioner, like apple cider vinegar with a 50% water dilution.
2.) Transitioning from a traditional shampoo/conditioner to Bluebird may take a couple weeks. Be patient.
3.) No castile soap is color safe so using Bluebird as a shampoo can lead to fading or spotting. Treated hair needs acidic products like shampoos, and soap, by nature, is not acidic.
4.) Experiment first. Everyone’s hair has its own personality and it reacts differently to different products.
DO YOU, OR WILL YOU CARRY ANY OTHER BRANDS OF SKINCARE PRODUCTS?
We don’t have any immediate plans to carry products other than the ones we create and make ourselves. This allows us to focus on the quality, consistency, health, safety and sustainability of our items. On occasion, we do partner with other brands that share our philosophy on giveaways and charitable efforts.
