The anti-inflammatory properties of beeswax encourage the healing of wounds. It is also protective, helping form a barrier between the skin and the environment without clogging pores. The protective nature of beeswax also helps hold in moisture and reduce dryness of skin. Beeswax is high in vitamin A, which has been found to support cell reconstruction and health.
Calendula (flower powder & extract)
Calendula has can be used to relieve many types of skin conditions that may cause dry, itchy or irritated areas, including eczema, dermatitis and dandruff. By promoting the production of collagen, an essential protein for glowing skin, Calendula aids in sustaining soothed, hydrated skin. Although strong in effect, the gentleness of Calendula provides soothing benefits that can be enjoyed even by those with skin sensitivities.
Chamomile (flower powder)
Chamomile is considered to be one of the most ancient and versatile medicinal herbs known to mankind. Dried chamomile flowers have numerous, widespread health implications thanks to their high levels of disease-fighting antioxidants like terpenoids and flavonoids. These antioxidants are associated with better immune function, lower rates of mood disorders, reduced pain and swelling, and healthier skin, hair, nails, teeth and eyes.
Cocoa butter has been used for centuries in Africa for its moisturizing and healing properties, where it has been used to protect and condition skin that has been damaged by the sun and wind. Cocoa butter has a high concentration of antioxidant compounds, that include fatty acids: oleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid. These fatty acids are beneficial for the body and aid in neutralizing free radicals in the skin. Cocoa butter is also naturally rich in vitamin K and vitamin E.
Coconut oil is one of the most revered oils for nutritional purposes and general moisturizing. It contains Vitamin E, essential amino acids, and lauric and caprylic acid which form part of the barrier function of your skin.
Mandarin Essential Oil
Mandarin essential oil dates back thousands of years to traditional Chinese medicine, and is known to be the sweetest and the most calming of all citrus oils. Mandarin essential oil is believed to be useful in helping to reduce acne, brighten skin, reduce oily skin, diminish the appearance of scars and age spots and minimize stress and wrinkles.
Marshmallow root has been used continually throughout ancient Egyptian, Arab, Greek, and Roman cultures for at least 2,000 years. Marshmallow root is known for its moisturizing and hydrating properties. Plus, marshmallow root's mild anti-inflammatory properties are known to be great for soothing skin irritations like acne, puffiness and slowing down the signs of aging.
Gluten-Free Oat Flour
Used primarily in skin care for its calming, anti-inflammatory properties. It is effective in relieving itching due to allergies, eczema, burns, sunburn, bites or other skin irritations. It contains healthy lubricating fats that moisturize the skin.
Organic extra virgin olive oil is obtained from the first pressing of the olive and is left in its natural unrefined state. Bursting with skin-beneficial nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as omega-3 and polyphenols, studies have shown that applying olive oil to the skin can prevent signs of photo-aging and sun damage. It also acts as a natural anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial agent and shows promising results for those with acne-prone skin.
Plantain Leaf Powder
Plantain is very high in vitamins A and C, and calcium. Native Americans used plantain leaves to relieve the pain of bee stings and insect bites, stop the itching of poison ivy and other allergic rashes, and promote healing in sores and bruises.
